CTVNY, THE COMMUNITY TELEVISION OF NEWYORK, A YouTube Channel covering community activities of the people of the all Borough of New York City with the special focus and live broadcast of 12 Community Boards/Districts meetings and follow up reports on the burning issues.
Mission
Broadcasting community news with a special focus on the activities of the 56 community boards in new york city; which we strongly believe would empower the communities and increase their participation on the decisions taken by the community boards on vital community issues which have a direct impact on the daily lives of the resident in a particular community district.
While there are hundreds of thousand people live in a particular community board, the fact is that only 50-100 members of the community only attend the community board meetings. A large number of populations in a community district do not have information or time or appetite to attend the community board meetings.
The community television of new york (ctv-ny) will empower the community members with the knowledge of regular community board activities which will encourage and engage them in the activities of the community boards and thus will empower our communities and strengthen our democracy.
