OVERDOSE PREVENTION AND REVERSAL TRAINING AT BRONX NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH ACTION CENTER
This training will teach you how to recognize and reverse an opioid overdose. You will become a Certified Opioid Overdose Responder and receive an Overdose Rescue Kit with naloxone–a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and restores breathing. This training will be happening on a monthly basis and is open to anyone who wants to learn how to reverse an overdose. Training starts at 10:30 am. Bronx Neighborhood Health Action Center is located at 1826 Arthur Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457.
*Please note: The Bronx Neighborhood Health Action Center hosts these trainings twice in a day. Participants only need to attend one of the sessions and arrive on time.
US CITIZENSHIP TEST STUDY GROUP AT WAKEFIELD LIBRARY
Adults preparing to take the United States Citizenship Test are invited to join us for weekly practice workshop. Each workshop will focus on the 100 citizenship test civics questions and the USCIS writing and reading vocabulary for the Naturalization Test. Students will also learn about New York Public Library resources and other online resources to continue their practice at home. Event starts: 11am. JAPAN STUDY DAY AT NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN (NYBG)
This special Study Day celebrates Japanese arts and sciences in the field of natural history and garden design, featuring an international team of experts, including Federico Marcon (Department of East Asian Studies, Princeton University), Harm Beukers (Scaliger Institute, Leiden, the Netherlands), and Ryosuke Kondo (Landscape Architecture, Tokyo University). Topics of exploration include the development of natural history and Dutch–Japanese exchanges in medical botany from the 17th-century onward, as well as the role of trees in Japanese garden design.
